what goes up…

… must come down.

corollary: what goes in, must come out.

it’s the when, where, why, and how of the “coming out” that can make life so interesting.

which is basically a round-about way of saying that this weekend my husband and i suffered through one of the most awful, debilitating, excruciating stomach viruses i have ever had the misfortune to meet. (meanwhile, meeka was a-ok and raring to go, wandering why mommy and daddy were simply lying on the floor/bed/wherever and not playing!with!her!)

nearly a full day of not being able to keep liquids down (sidenote: throwing up water may not be nearly as bad as throwing up actual solids, but it is still not a pleasant experience. and when one can’t keep even a sip of water down, well. yeah. that’s when you’ve met this horrible bug) and another day on top of that for solids, i managed to eat a bowl of soup yesterday! woot! (the husband went all cah-razy and ate a subway sandwich. which amazingly stayed down. no idea how he did that) and i was actually somewhat hungry for breakfast this morning! (or at least not revolted by the thought!)

all this to say, yup, posting has been light. might continue to be for a day or two. or longer, should the other shoe drop (or the other little person upchuck) and meeka also succumb. but – we are here, we are alive (though at times, we may not have thought we would be), we are finally eating and drinking and playing!with!meeka! again…

and we are hoping to never, ever, ever meet this particular virus again.

how about you? how was YOUR weekend?

Eeek, so sorry to hear you’re sick! I really hope everyone is well on the road to recovery and reasonable meals.
