… and Mommy

Mommy is thirty, and still can’t believe it. Some days, she also can’t believe she’s been married nearly five years, she’s gone through graduate school, and she’s – GASP! – an adult (sorta)…

These past few months (years?) have been a whirlwind for her, as she finished one graduate degree, went back and finished the second while also getting pregnant, graduated with her terminal (well, hopefully!) degree(s), gave birth less than a month later, and started back to her job (well, further training) two weeks after that… only to realize a few months in that she was SO NOT OK with having a job that required her to miss six out of seven days of her daughter’s life (and be frantically catching up on everything else that seventh day as well). And so she made the toughest – yet so far, most rewarding – decision of her life and left that job after only a few months. Luckily, she had that other graduate degree to fall back on while she now takes a moment, takes a breath, and figures out what she’s going to do with her life.

I’m 30, married 5 years and incubating a graduate degree I’m also not using because I’m home with my girl…such a similar story! It is so hard figuring out what is ‘right’, but I just live in a moment to moment attempt at happiness! So far so good! Love the blog!
